Test results

Most blood test results are back within 7 days but some specialist tests take much longer. Routine x-ray and scan results can take 2 to 4 weeks depending on the type of test.

Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you by phone or text message.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can:

• view them in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
• phone or visit us after 10am and we will tell you the results

If you have not received your blood test results within 7 to 10 days please contact Farrow Medical practice reception.

Results go back to the doctor or nurse who requested the test. If a test was requested by the hospital then your results will usually go back to the hospital and not to your GP. Please contact your hospital specialist for these results.
